Expert answer: the story behind your business

The Story Behind Our Business

Explains Jordan James Media's origin as a full-stack studio joining web build and acquisition, and how AI search is reshaping SEO strategy.

The answer

The story behind our business starts with a gap I kept seeing: agencies that could run ads or build a website, but not both, and nobody joining the two together. I started Jordan James Media in Sydney to close that gap, a full-stack studio that handles acquisition (SEO, Google Ads, AI search visibility) and the build (web design, development) as one connected system, not two separate invoices from two separate vendors who don't talk to each other.

The decision that changed our direction was refusing to hand clients a finished website and then walk away. A site is a starting point, not an endpoint. We treat the build and the campaign as one sequence: map the keywords and buyer questions first, structure the site around them, then launch paid search and SEO against that structure so the two reinforce each other instead of competing for budget and attention. That sounds obvious written down, but most small businesses still buy a website from one shop and run ads through another, and the two have never once compared notes.

The industry has changed fastest in how people actually search. Google Ads and classic SEO still matter, but a growing share of buyers now get their first answer from an AI Overview or an AI chat tool before they ever click a blue link. That means the old game of ranking a page is only half the job now, the other half is making sure the content itself answers the question clearly enough that an AI system can lift it and cite the business by name. We build for both audiences deliberately: the search engine crawler and the person asking an AI assistant a direct question.

What I'd tell someone starting out today: don't separate your website and your marketing into two decisions made six months apart. Build the site to answer the exact questions your customers are typing or asking, then point your ad spend and SEO effort at proving those answers. The sequence matters more than the budget.

If you're weighing up a new site, a search campaign, or getting your small business ready for AI search, start with Jordan James Media.
